Public Communication and Engagement on Risk
Wednesday 19 November, 1pm – 2pm (GMT)

Join Sciencewise and Jacqui Cotton, Policy, Strategy and Investment R&D Theme Manager at the Environment Agency (EA), for a webinar on ‘Public communication and engagement on risk’. The webinar will focus on the EA’s recent public dialogue project, which aimed to create new and practical tools to help specialist agencies communicate flood risk, and what people should do in the event of flooding, as effectively as possible.

The webinar will cover the value of the public dialogue, how it will help to create a better policy and what, if any, surprises the dialogue uncovered. Jacqui will also discuss how well the dialogue was received internally within the Environment Agency; before and during the project, and any key learnings to come out of the experience.

The session is designed to provide guidance to policy makers who are curious about/or actively looking to engage the public on policy issues involving science and technology.
